Ailanbeg Cottage All Inclusive*:

 Fully equipped kitchen/ lounge, bath and bedrooms ( see below for details).

 All bed linen, towels and tea towels are supplied.

 Beds will be made for your arrival.

 A cot for 1 child up to 2 years is available.

 Up to 4 Mountain Bikes can be used free of charge.

 Internet and Email are available Internet details.

 Sky TV (Freesat) , European Sat TV.

 Electricity* (including heating), Gas for the hob.

Ailanbeg Cottage has a "No Smoking" policy
 (however we have a designated smoking area in the porch).

Open plan lounge/kitchen with: gas hob, electric oven with grill, microwave, extractor fan, washing machine, electric continental coffee maker, toaster, fridge with 3 star freezer compartment, breakfast bar, lounge area with armchairs, sofa, coffee table, dining table, stereo with radio/cassette player , FREE Internet and Email ( Broadband details), Sky UK Satellite TV (UK and European), DVD player and ceramic heater.

Bathroom

Includes hand wash basin, WC, immersion heater in cupboard, continental pressurized water system, full bath with shower overhead.

Bedroom 1

Master bedroom:  king-size double bed, single bed, wardrobe, bedside tables, chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2

2 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers.

Utility room:

Large room with tumble dryer, freezer, purpose built fishing rod racks, electric boot dryer etc.

Ailanbeg Cottage, located in the Cairngorms National Park, was built about 1750 and was fully renovated in 1994 and kept looked after to a high standard. It benefits from all mod cons including double glazing, satellite TV and FREE internet and E-mail via WLAN Wi-Fi (please enquire) however retains all of its former charm due to its original exposed granite masonry work and stunning country views. The majestic Cairngorms and Monadhliath Mountains provide an exclusive backdrop to your holiday.


We are located about 1,5 miles outside the picturesque village of Nethybridge, on the edge of the Abernethy Forest Nature Reserve and close to the RPSB Osprey reserve.
 
Bird watching from Ailanbeg Cottage:
The Cottage is located at the end of a private road, surrounded by grazing land to the south and west; heather and a natural pond which attracts waterfowl to the north and east. You can spot water hens, seagulls, ducks, partridges, black-grouse, crossbills, curlews, oystercatchers, capercailles, ospreys, buzzards, falcons and with a little patience: the red kite and the golden eagle.


Over 55 different species of bird have been spotted from Ailanbeg Cottage, without having to leave the property. They include:
Black Grouse, Red Grouse, Black headed Gull, Mallard. Oystercatcher (nesting) and with young in garden, Lapwing (nesting) and with young in Garden, Curlew (nesting) and with young in garden, Swallow, Sand Martin, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Jackdaw, Teal, Snipe in Garden,  Widgeons, House Martin, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Shoveler, Common Gull, Moorhen (nesting) and with young in garden, Redshank in Garden,  Starling, Wheatear in garden, Short-eared Owl, Buzzard, Sparrow Hawk, Hen Harrier, Kestrel, Red Kite, Crow, Rook, Pheasant, Grey Partridge, a flock of more than 20 red-legged Partridges in front of the cottage, Woodcock pair, Redpoll pair,  Jack Snipe, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Redwing, Song Thrush, Woodpigeon, Wren, Robin, Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail, Starling and the rare Reed Bunting.


Regular visitors to our peanut feeders include: siskin, red buntings, greenfinch, Bullfinch, reed buntings, Chaffinches, Goldfinches, Blue Tits, Crested Tits, Great Spotted Woodpeckers and recently the Dunnock.

*All inclusive fair usage policy. e.g. Internet Normal use of email, surfing the Internet. We do not allow P2P usage as this may put unfair heavy demand on our bandwidth. The same applies to electricity e.g. The long term average usage of electricity in particular heating is included but excessive use may be charged extra. The use of our Wlan and electricity is remotely monitored for this purpose.
